Recreational Activity Surveyor (YMNP)

We’re looking for active and independent volunteers who can spend one day per week recording recreational activities amongst the UK’s largest mainland breeding seabird colony, throughout the summer months.

You will visit various locations across Flamborough and Filey cliffs, recording recreational activities and observing the response of seabirds.  The data you collect will help us to understand more about our unique seabird colony and how we can better protect it.

Full training will be given, however access to your own vehicle is required due to the rural nature of the monitoring locations.

Join us in reconnecting communities with Yorkshire’s stunning marine and coastal environments.

Yorkshire Marine Nature Partnership is looking for a passionate and pro-active individual to help deliver the National Lottery-funded REConnect project. You’ll lead workstreams focussed on connecting people to the coastline in North Yorkshire around the River Esk, supporting volunteers, managing project activities, and promoting sustainability through community engagement.

We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding of Yorkshire’s marine and coastal environments, and the wider social and economic issues affecting the Esk and Coastal Streams Catchment.  With experience in project development and delivery, you’ll be a skilled communicator who can build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholdersfrom scientists and community leaders to volunteers and partner organisations. Youll need to be resilient, proactive, and confident working across multiple workstreams, using your initiative to keep things moving and adapt to changing priorities.

This role offers the chance to be part of a forwardthinking team committed to sustainability and communityled change. Youll contribute to a nationally funded initiative thats helping shape the future of coastal conservation in Yorkshire.
